Where is Travis??
In Idaho 😃
Glad you got this edited and posted. Enjoyed watching your outing. Good job!
Thanks for watching!
Wow what a climb! Looked and sounded hard but the video sure was nice. Thanks for sharing.
This was a tough route for sure!
Crazy times! Good to roll with the punches and make the best of things. 🤣
Always pays to roll with the punches!
That was an adventure. Dogs are looking great. Thanks for the video and take care, Al
Thanks for checking it out!
You are making me miss the Uinta's! Need to get up there. So fun to go at a time with no crowds. Excellent video. Any luck fishing?
Sadly there was no fishing on this trip. There wasn't much open water at the lake, and then the whole exhaustion thing. 😂
Awesome!!
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
If u aint ever been on a a missouri boat ride then you havent been on a boat ride. Lol. Good adventure!
Ain't no ride like a Missouri boat ride!
Well, this was a great watch with my morning coffee. Thanks for sharing!✌️
We do what we can! 😂

Nice video to start my day.
As always, thanks for checking it out!
🔥🌧🌈
🍀🍻
Very beautiful nature
Thanks for watching!
Great video, what dice game do you generally play ?
We call the game Rocky Mountain Zilch.
You sure do have some beautiful country up there! Those were some brutal trails! We have a few like that here in SoCal that i keep putting off, but want to do it one last time.
You gotta be careful with those "just one more time" trails! 😂 but unless I hear that those trails have had a trail clearing crew go through, they are dead to me!
That trail is rough.
That is it!
Did you see Charleton Heston or Brian Keith there at Popo Agie?
I must've just missed them
Beautiful mountains!
Beautiful indeed!
Great video Travis! Blow downs are not just physically exhausting, but also mentally exhausting. When you walk up on a major blow down and you stop to figure out how to get through it, your energy takes a hit immediately. However, your efforts paid off. The views from that saddle were outstanding.
That is so true! It is more than just physical part! Then you climb through that one hike 100 yards down the trail and do it all again!
Sipping on some whiskey at camp is so enjoyable. I usually do tequila though. Love those Mountain View’s. Cool video and area 👍🏻👍🏻
Drinking tequila in the bourbon capital of the world?! Blasphemy! You might have to turn in your Kentucky card! 😂 I probably need to try bringing tequila one time! I don't have it often enough.
@@mountainwanderer in my youth I drank way to much Bourbon. It’s hard for me to drink it nowadays. Lol
Mine was Southern Comfort - can't even smell the stuff anymore. 😂 🤢
Bump. Go Cats beat the Griz.
😹
Love the drone shots buddy! Hike on and be safe. Bryan
Thanks Bryan! I hope you're getting out and "goating" around a bit. The high country is opening up!
That is in my own backyard! I’m looking forward to trying it! Thank you for sharing with us, beautiful hike! Love the drone footage too 😊
There are so many excellent places to go here! Many exploring opportunities!
@@mountainwanderer I believe it. I would love to learn how to find these spectacular places even though I’ve lived here all my life. I’m so glad I came across your channel. Thank you!
I use CalTopo to find trails. Sometimes those trails are still there, sometimes they are not. It usually ends in adveture!
@@mountainwanderer Agreed! Thank you for the info
This trail looks phenomenal! Absolutely phenomenal man, fantastic work!
Thank you! Thanks for checking it out!
Lots of comments on this one. That first camp that Timber spent is great...we've left ashes of our last two dogs at those sorts of spots...we'll be back. I follow your trips on the USGS topos so I know where you are going. Blowdowns are tough, and even more so for shorter folks. I have 36" inseams and my wife is 30"...I'm tired after getting over a plethora but she has to do twice the work. With all the fires, the blowdowns are going up. I've done a few trips doing the ridge running in the Bitterroots between ID & MT, finding several old markers, but haven't been in this area. Beer in the truck is the best!
I love finding little spots like that. Seems like a long time now since Timber took that first trip, and of course the blowdown has completely changed the landscape.
Great job Travis, way to persevere! Awesome drone shots of the ridge too, really cool. The clip of Timber going after the snow bank says it all!
Sometimes the thought of going back through the mess you just came through is powerful enough to push you on!
why do all you hikers look like ms jane hathoway on the beverly hill billys😂😂😂
Because she’s hot
I guess you see what you want to see, bud...🤔 Thanks for watching! 😂🍻
@@angelula 🤣🤣🤣
@@mountainwanderer honestly you look just fine. Ignore the low brow comments. 👍🏼
Thank you!
Heck yeah, a shoutout from the mountain wanderer! Bummer about the east fork lost creek trail though. Does 502 still get maintained?
It looked like 502 had been cleared within the last couple years. There is still blow down on it, but it wasn't too bad. The whole time I was hiking that trail I was trying to figure out why they wouldn't let bikes on it? Seems like a waste. It would actually get used a bit if riders could take it.
Yeah its unfortunate, i wouldn’t think it would be a high traffic area since the motorized trail across the road gets almost zero use. It would be a fun loop, looks like a really cool trail. Maybe i’ll add it to the list of projects!
Why no beer can at the end?😀
Yeah... there are beers at the end! 2 different kinds!
Great video!
Thanks for checking it out!
Maybe they should change the name from Lost Creek to Lost Trail.
That's a pretty good idea! I had no trouble finding the creek!
Oh man tragedy and comedy are so closely related. I couldnt help but laugh everytime u were saying how bad it is and words dont describe it.Absolutely 100% true...words cant describe it and video cant capture it...u just have to go through it to understand. I always say a mile of bushwhacking or a mile of post holing in the snow is equivelant to a 3 mile efort. Some great shots in there. That ridge line with the snow looked more like a rail of coke for Crom! Good video man!
You have done your fair share of gnarly bushwhacks! At some point we all ask ourselves "Why the hell am I putting myself through this!"
@@mountainwanderer 100%
Good to see you and Timber back on the trail!
It's good to be on trail!
Great video, as usual. My wife and I just recently found your channel. We are now subscribed and watching older videos while waiting for new ones. If you don't mind, can you tell us what mapping app you use?. Your maps are are very nice.
The map images I get from CalTopo. Then I take that and animate it in Apple Motion.
@@mountainwanderer Thanks. We use CalTopo a lot. Your maps seem clearer and more well defined, though.
I zoom in and get the highest resolution and then stitch the maps together in a photo editor
Fantastic video. Thanks for sharing. 👍57
Thanks for watching!
Great scenery makes it all worthwhile.....thanks for sharing!
All in the name of adventure!
Man that first part was some tough sledding. Bet that scotch tasted good. Beautiful country and another well done video. Timber looks great. Take care, Al
Yes, the scotch was great! Small reward, but I will take it!
Hey there! Way to persevere through the adversity! The rewards were worth it hopefully. I'm in So Cal for a bit longer helping my parents but I am jonesing for some North Idaho and Montana hiking and water time. Thank you for the nice views and adventure.
It was one of those times where they thought of going back was worse that the thought of moving forward!
Another awesome production! You definitely earned that "beer in the truck"!👊🏻
On some trips the beer tastes a little better! And it sure did at the end of this trip!
Beautiful area! I don’t know how this one got past me. I’m guessing I was on my last hike for the season here. It’s already getting into the 100° range here. Too hot. Headed your way Colorado next month. Keep on moving!✌️
Wow 100º! Too hot for me! Enjoy Colorado!!
Dang, Travis! Perseverance made for a heck of a trip. Enjoyed watching!✌️
Sometimes I'm too dumb to know when you turn around! 😂
@@mountainwanderer Same here.😄
Well, the first thing you gotta know, is the cour d' lane is a huge forest 😂😂❤
It is a very large forest and few hikers!
might be insane bushwack for us - but u make it look easy! wow - not much maintenance on that trail makes for extra work :( love the drone flights great adventure - love the music choice too! see u on the next trail
Afterwards I realized that I didn't film too much of the "pain" part of the bushwhack, but I did cry about it enough! 😂
@@mountainwanderer well I am sore after watching the video! :)
I like that way of toasting english muffins. Gonna remember that! Love that ridgeline with the snow on it.
Using the stove wasn't as good as a fire, but you have to work with what you've got sometimes!
I like your truck. I wish they still made small mid-sized pickups like that Dakota. The perfect vehicle for backcountry dirt roads.
Yes! I will always have a smaller truck just for that reason! I have turned that truck around on some very very narrow forest roads.
The drive you have to complete a trip is amazing. Incredible video! Thanks for sharing and don't ever lose that drive and ambition.
Sometimes going back the way you came in is a much worse option that just plowing forward! 😂
I absolutely love your videos .
Thank you! I really appreciate you watching!
Nice job. That “Numbered” Lake just over the saddle looked inviting for a change, rather than just being a puddle. Hopefully, someone will open the trail up.
That is probably as full as that lake ever gets!
New video, great way to start my day. Timber as alert as always. Great drone work sir!
Timber was on full alert this trip at night!
Beautiful!
Thanks, Kenny!
The sun river is my happy place
I can see why!
